PROVISIONAL ART SPACE [experiments in olfactory and musical composition]
Volume, the performance’s title, reflects the many definitions of the word: a book, amount of space an object occupies and a measure of the intensity of sound. To date, Volume has been performed in diverse spaces in Europe and USA and is customized to reflect each unique venue. During the events, Ron Hutt mixes and codes sound files, video-projected images, text and animation. Ron Hutt’s Volume projects are rooted in an existential process that generates a flow of provisional meanings from visual and auditory digital resources. The resulting live-mixed and screen-captured compositions grow out of specific geographical locations and a radiating, ongoing thematic exploration and conceptual development.
